Job Description - CT Technologist Full Time Afternoons (2105043539)

Up to $15,000 Sign on Bonus, based on relevant experience

DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital in Oakland County is dedicated to outstanding customer service and medical care. Summary Description

Under general supervision and following established policies and procedures, performs diagnostic CT exams using appropriate imaging equipment. Verifies patient identity, reviews medical records for exam appropriateness, interviews patients to obtain or update medical history, and assesses risk factors such as medications, pregnancy, and psychological indicators. Explains procedures, including side effects, risks, benefits, and follow-up. Sets up equipment, acquires images as per script, reviews images, makes initial observations, documents protocol deviations, and communicates findings to radiologists. Recognizes and responds to medical emergencies as needed. Provides post-care instructions and participates in process improvement activities. Educates residents, students, and new staff. May take call/standby and perform duties of a Radiologic Technologist if required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (R) or Computed Tomography (CT) preferred.
  2. Must complete American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support – Healthcare Provider (BLS) training by end of orientation.
  3. One or more years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology or advanced certification in CT.

Skills Required:

  1. Analytical and clinical skills to determine age-appropriate radiographic methods based on patient ability and limitations.
  2. Effective interpersonal and communication skills to instruct patients under stress and work with diverse hospital personnel and patients.
  3. Technical knowledge of imaging equipment and computers.
  4. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a complex environment.
  5. Knowledge of American College of Radiology accreditation requirements.
  6. Physical stamina for walking, standing, lifting, and positioning patients.
  7. Manual dexterity and visual acuity for operating imaging equipment and producing diagnostic images.
