Job summary

Ardent Health Services is seeking a CT/Radiology Technologist for night shift, PRN coverage at Salado, TX. The role involves performing CT and diagnostic X-ray exams, maintaining patient safety, and ensuring accurate documentation within PACS/HIS.

Ideal candidates will hold ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) certifications, a Texas MRT license, and BLS certification. You’ll work with Seton Medical Center Harker Heights and affiliated imaging teams in a patient‑centered environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology, or a JRCERT program as indicated on the DD Form 214.
• Current ARRT (R) certification.
• Current ARRT (CT) certification.
• Current MRT license - Texas.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivery of personalized, professional imaging care and perform CT and diagnostic x-ray examinations.
• Explain imaging procedures to patients and families, promoting understanding and comfort.
• Perform CT and radiology procedures using proper protocols and positioning to produce quality images.
• Enter and maintain patient information in PACS/HIS and other systems for care and workflow.
• Conduct quality control and report equipment issues promptly to management.
• Follow ALARA principles to ensure safety for patients and staff.
• Provide patient support including safe transport and coordination with nursing/physician staff.
• Maintain orderly imaging rooms and accurate documentation of charges.

• Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services and more.

Responsibilities

• The CT / Radiologic Technologist is responsible for assisting in the delivery of personalized, professional and quality patient care, performance of all computerized tomography and diagnostic x-ray examinations, and transportation of patients to and from Imaging Services.
• Explain imaging procedures to patients and families in a clear and professional manner, addressing questions and promoting patient understanding and comfort.
• Perform CT and diagnostic radiology procedures utilizing appropriate imaging protocols, technical factors, and positioning techniques to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
• Provide patient-centered imaging services by ensuring care is delivered in a professional, personalized, and high-quality manner consistent with organizational standards and guiding principles.
• Accurately enter, retrieve, and maintain patient information within PACS, HIS, and other applicable electronic systems to support patient care, documentation, and workflow efficiency.
• Perform quality control and safety checks on imaging equipment, promptly reporting equipment malfunctions, hazards, or operational concerns to management.
• Adhere to radiation safety standards, including the principles of As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA), to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
• Provide patient support services, including basic patient care, safe patient transport, and coordination with nursing or physician staff when additional assistance is required.
• Maintain departmental operations by ensuring accurate documentation and charging practices, ordering necessary supplies, and keeping imaging rooms and work areas clean, organized, and ready for patient care.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology, or a graduate of a military Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) program as indicated on DD Form 214.
• Current ARRT (R) certification - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• Current ARRT (CT) certification - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• Current MRT license - Medical Radiologic Technologist certification issued by the State of Texas.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
