Job summary

Western Missouri Medical Center is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform computerized tomographic imaging as ordered, with attention to patient safety and protocol adherence.

The role includes processing exams in RIS/PACS, collaborating with radiologists, and maintaining image quality and patient history for accurate diagnosis. Requires ARRT registration and BLS; CT registry preferred. Includes a $10,000 signing bonus and Sunday-Wednesday 3rd shift.

Qualifications

• CT registry preferred or registry eligible.
• AHA BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Review requisitions, prepare equipment and supplies.
• Screen patients for preparation and allergies; consult with radiologist as needed.
• Explain procedure to patient and position for exam; apply proper protocol.
• Enter exams in Radiology Information System and PACS; provide adequate history to radiologist.
• Maintain image quality and ensure complete, accurate documentation; follow department policies.
• Assist in care and maintenance of facilities, equipment and supplies; keep areas clean.
• Attend department meetings as required.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Job description

This position is eligible for a $10,000 signing bonus.

Full‑time

Purpose Statement

Produce computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of designated anatomical areas as ordered/directed, according to established practices and procedures.

Essential Functions

• Review requisitions, check and prepare equipment and supplies.
• Identify, interview, and screen patient for proper preparation and for possible allergies to contrast materials; consult with radiologist, or attending physician as needed.
• Explain procedure to patient, position patient on table and use appropriate protocol for exam ordered.
• Knowledgeable on lab tests needed prior to exam.
• Schedule and/or reschedule patients as needed.
• Able to enter exams in Radiology Information System and PACS.
• Provide radiologist with proper history for complete diagnosis.
• Review/evaluate completed images for quality, completeness and type of test ordered. Maintain established department policies, procedures, objectives, and quality.
• Assist in care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies. Keep work areas clean. Maintain supply levels.
• Must adhere to hospital dress code.
• Attend in‑service meetings and other meetings as required. Attendance of 50% of all department meetings is required.
• Able to send images to both cloud systems.
• Perform duties of Radiologic Technologist as needed.
• Perform other duties as directed by Diagnostic Imaging Director.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required.
• Registry from the ARRT in Radiology required.
• Registry in CT preferred or registry eligible.
• Must be self‑motivated and have the ability to work within the established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the hospital/clinic.

Physical/Mental Requirements

• Must be able to sit and stand, intermittent 8 to 10 hours a day.
• Must be able to use standard office equipment, including the telephone and computer keyboard.
• Continuously works under pressure of near 100% accuracy while meeting inflexible deadlines.
• Continuously utilizes manual/bi‑manual dexterity, near vision, speech, and hearing.
• Frequently stands, walks, sits and utilizes eye/hand coordination and color definition.
• Occasionally reaches above shoulder, regularly required to lift and/or carry up to 40 lbs.
