Job summary

Dignity Health - Mercy Hospital in Bakersfield, CA seeks a Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) to produce diagnostic images for Radiologists to interpret. Daily duties include X-ray, CT, MRI, fluoroscopy, and ultrasound imaging, with emphasis on patient interaction and accurate results for timely diagnoses.

You will work across radiology workflows, ensure safety, and participate in call schedules to cover evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years’ staff technologist experience, with at least one year in a specialty field.
• Experience in radiology and a second specialty.

Responsibilities

• Transfer and position patients.
• Perform all diagnostic radiographic imaging and fluoroscopic procedures per department protocols.
• Provide radiation protection per safety procedures.
• Place exams in PACS and print images as needed.
• Identify patients, verify orders, explain procedures and obtain consent if needed.
• Use sterile technique and assist in administering radiopaque material.
• Function independently in RIS/PACS workflows and HIS/RIS systems; manage orders and corrections.
• Demonstrate competency in care across age groups; scheduling and triage of emergencies.
• Participate in on-call coverage for weeknights/weekends/holidays.
• Serve as charge Technologist as needed.
