Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a CT Technologist to perform cross-sectional imaging and support training across multiple locations in the health system.

Responsibilities include operating CT scanners, ensuring patient safety, coordinating examinations for efficient flow, and providing education to staff and students. The role emphasizes maintaining high standards and contributing to our mission for World Class care.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Certificate of Completion in Radiologic Technology is required.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology is required.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as liaison for communication between departments and supports approved Radiology Department projects.
  • Assists in developing continuing education strategies for the CT Department and staff enrichment.
  • Provides teaching and learning opportunities to technologists and students.
  • Ensures staff operate CT equipment safely and in accordance with policies and protocols.
  • Operates CT scanners and ancillary devices at designated locations.
  • Sets equipment parameters, assesses patients, and prepares and administers contrast material.
  • Maintains efficient patient flow and coordinates examinations to minimize stay time.
  • Responds to contrast reactions and patient needs promptly.
  • Completes mandatory educational assignments as directed by supervisors.
  • Performs routine CT procedures with high quality and expands to specialty studies as experience grows.
  • Supports KU Hospital mission and strives for World Class status.

Education

High School Graduate Or GED.
Certificate of Completion in Radiologic Technology.
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology.
