Job summary

The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform CT scan studies and related radiologic procedures in a high-volume environment in New York. The role requires NY State license, ARRT CT certification, and experience with OR and portable radiology, as well as PACS/RIS systems.

Responsibilities include quality control, dose optimization, patient positioning, and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and ALARA principles.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • NY State DOH License and registration certificate in Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and Computed Tomography (CT).
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association).
  • 1 year minimum experience, including OR procedures and portables.
  • Proficiency in Fluoroscopic / portable radiology / OR procedures.
  • Knowledge of McKesson PACS and image cast Radiology Information systems (RIS).
  • Experience in digital & computed radiography.

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiologic examinations on patients referred by physicians in accordance with radiologic protocols.
  • Be competent in routine diagnostic, operating room, and portables.
  • Use appropriate kV and mA techniques to insure quality diagnostic CT images.
  • Conduct daily quality control calibration checks on equipment before patient studies.
  • Inject patients with radioactive material as per physician’s order following protocol.
  • Maintain department logs and report equipment problems to comply with regulatory agencies.
  • Perform quality control, quality assurance and safety tests following ALARA guidelines.
  • Maintain and retrieve patient films and electronic data for radiologist interpretation.
  • Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses 1 day prior to use.
  • Receive radiopharmaceuticals on delivery day and verify activity level prior to administration.
  • Evaluate radiographs for technical acceptability.
  • Be comfortable working in an Emergency Department setting.
  • Other duties as assigned.
