Job summary

Canon Medical Research USA, Inc. (CMRU) seeks a Senior CT Reconstruction Scientist to join the CT Business Unit. You will develop advanced reconstruction algorithms, validate image quality, and contribute to research in CT imaging, including Photon Counting CT.

This role blends physics, mathematics, and AI to advance next-generation CT technologies. The Senior CT Reconstruction Scientist reports to the Senior Manager, CT Reconstruction and works in a hybrid role based in Vernon Hills, IL, with a

Qualifications

• PhD in STEM field required.
• Experience in tomographic image reconstruction and CT system modeling.
• Experience with photon counting or spectral imaging technologies preferred.
• Experience applying ML/AI to imaging preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced CT image reconstruction algorithms to improve image quality and workflows.
• Design and implement reconstruction for next-generation CT platforms, including Photon Counting CT.
• Model X-ray physics and system behavior for CT imaging applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for new product development and commercialization.
• Partner with clinical teams to optimize image quality and clinical performance.
• Collaborate with academia and industry on cutting-edge research initiatives.
• Contribute to publications and patents.
