Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited radiologic technology program.
• IL hires must be students from an accredited radiology program and in 2nd year of clinical training.
• No prior experience required.
• Knowledge of imaging anatomy and safety practices is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist imaging technologists with patient prep and exam setup following infection control practices.
• Verify patient identity, explain procedures, obtain history, and confirm patient understanding.
• Assist with patient transfer and transport to/from exam rooms as needed.
• Utilize radiology systems to generate requisitions, check schedules, and retrieve patient data.
• Review clinical information to ensure exam accuracy and document results in the system.
• Position patients and select exposure factors under supervision of a licensed radiographer; cannot activate exposure switch.
• Document images and patient records in RIS/PACS per workflows and policies.
• Demonstrate age-appropriate patient care and communication across the life span.
