Job summary

Responsibilities

• Identify, decontaminate, process and sterilize surgical instruments including endoscopy scopes.
• Follow processing equipment procedures with proper orientation and supervision.
• Maintain thorough understanding of sterilizers, washer-decontaminators, medivators and ultrasonic cleaners.
• Demonstrate meticulous attention to technical and procedural details and communicate effectively.

Job description

Responsibility

Under the leadership of the Central Sterile Processing Supervisor, demonstrates competency in indentification, decontamination, processing and sterilization of surgical instruments including endoscopy scopes. Has a thorough understanding of processing and sterilization of surgical instruments and endoscopy scopes. Has a thorough understanding of processing equipment, including but not limited to, sterilizers,washer decontaminators, medivators and ultra sonic cleaners following a detailed orientation.

Education

• Minimum: High School education or equivalent.
• Preferred: Certification as Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) and/or Certification in Endoscope Reprocessing (CER)

License/Certifications

Certifications: Central Sterile Technician certification (CRCST) requirement within 12 months of hire. Preferred: Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) within 2 years of hire

Experience

Preferred: Previous experience in sterile processing and/or previous experience processing endoscopy scopes.

Other

• Minimum: Conscientious regard for technical and minute procedures. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Computer literacy.
