Job summary

Enigma Search is seeking an accomplished Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) to lead the scientific vision and strategy for a privately held biotechnology company focused on differentiated biologic therapeutics.

The CSO will drive the research function, identify therapeutic targets, and translate discovery through preclinical and clinical development, with deep expertise in Immunology & Inflammation and biologics experience.

Qualifications

• PhD in Immunology or related field; MD considered.
• 10+ years in biotech/pharma with increasing scientific leadership.
• Deep Immunology & Inflammation expertise.
• Experience translating discovery to IND/clinical development.
• Proven success leading biologics programs.
• Strong capability in in vivo pharmacology and animal models.
• Track record engaging with KOLs and investors.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead the company's scientific vision, research strategy, and portfolio.
• Identify and evaluate novel therapeutic targets based on mechanism, biology, landscape, translational potential.
• Lead programs from discovery through preclinical and translational development to clinical development.
• Provide scientific leadership for biologic therapeutics including antibodies and multispecifics.
• Determine experiments, models, and evidence to advance programs and go/no-go decisions.
• Provide leadership around in vivo pharmacology and animal models to support translation.
• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing scientific organization.
• Establish research priorities and contribute to portfolio strategy.
• Partner with Clinical Development, Regulatory, CMC, Business Development, and others to advance programs.
• Maintain understanding of competitive and scientific landscape in I&I, biologics, and targets.
• Establish relationships with KOLs, academics, clinicians, and external collaborators.
• Represent the company's science externally to investors and partners.
