Job Responsibilities
- Patient Care - Accountable for providing patient and employee safety at all times. Identifies and addresses potential safety issues, demonstrates understanding of technical skills required to care for patients and families, makes decisions, prioritizes planned and unplanned events, addresses potential problems. Prepares procedures focusing on cost-effective supplies and equipment to facilitate patient care with positive outcomes. Assists physicians with patient positioning, uses knowledge of standard and specialized equipment, applies appropriate techniques for hemostasis/wound closure, and assists with transport to and from OR.
- Department Responsibilities - Engages in doctor preference card (DPC) accuracy, identifies potential problems and notifies management, assumes ownership of problems, demonstrates understanding of cost management process for PeriOp, enhances daily OR flow, engages in process improvement activities.
- Professional Responsibilities - Engages in recycling, supports shared governance, demonstrates awareness of clinical research and its value, recognizes issues impacting health care delivery, contributes to collaborative solutions, demonstrates accountability for self-growth and learning, acts as a role model and unit/hospital/community resource.
- Teamwork - Engages in multidisciplinary team processes, participates in problem solving, collegial learning, pursuit of best practice, handles conflicts directly and constructively, promotes cooperation, respect, and trust within the team, responds to day‑to‑day needs of co‑workers and division.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- May require a Bachelor’s degree, vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent.
- 3+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.
- Surgical Assistant credential.
Location & Schedule
Primary location: Burnet Campus. Full‑time position, 40 weekly hours. Day shift (United States of America). Regular employee status. FTE: 1.
Pay
Expected Starting Pay Range: Annualized pay may vary based on FTE status $32.47 - $41.40.
