Job summary

VABODE Health Systems in Newport News, Virginia, seeks a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) to facilitate ASAM Level 2.1 intensive outpatient services. You will deliver evidence-based group counseling and contribute to individualized treatment planning.

You will document clinical progress, support recovery goals, and collaborate with the treatment team to ensure continuity of care and appropriate level of care for clients with SUD and co-occurring concerns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in Human Services, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
• Substance use disorder counseling experience preferred.
• Experience facilitating behavioral health or SUD groups preferred.
• Preferred CSAC or equivalent credential where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate ASAM Level 2.1 group counseling sessions according to the program schedule.
• Provide structured, therapeutic and recovery-oriented group interventions.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and collaborate with the treatment team.
• Provide individual SUD counseling when assigned and within scope of practice.
• Coordinate with the treatment team for treatment planning and discharge planning.
