Job summary

Symantrix inc is looking for a skilled Cloud Solutions Architect to lead the modernization of a client's enterprise cloud platform. In this hybrid role, you will work three days onsite in Irving, TX, with the remainder remote. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in cloud architecture with strong capabilities in AWS and Azure services. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred. This is a long-term contract position managed by Symantrix.

Job description

Symantrix is hiring a Cloud Solutions Architect on behalf of a Client to lead the modernization of their enterprise cloud platform. You will own the target‑state architecture across AWS and Azure, define the standards delivery teams build against, and guide a phased migration alongside the Client's engineering leadership. This is a long‑term contract engagement placed and managed by Symantrix.

Engagement Details

• Contract: via Symantrix
• Client: Confidential
• Work arrangement: Hybrid—3 days onsite (Irving, TX 75063) and remote remainder
• Duration: 12 months, extendable
• Onsite: Client's Irving, TX office three days per week
• Engagement managed end‑to‑end by Symantrix; Client name shared with shortlisted candidates

Job Duties

• Define the target‑state cloud architecture across AWS and Azure, including landing zones, networking, identity, and governance.
• Translate the Client's business and compliance requirements into reference architectures and reusable patterns.
• Set the technical standards, guardrails, and review gates that delivery teams build against.
• Lead the phased migration of legacy workloads, sequencing cutovers to minimize business risk.
• Partner with the Client's engineering and security leadership on cost, resilience, and roadmap decisions.
• Produce architecture decision records, diagrams, and handoff documentation.

Required Skills

• 8+ years in software or infrastructure engineering, with 3+ years in a cloud architecture role.
• Deep, hands‑on AWS and Azure across compute, networking, IAM, and managed data services.
• Infrastructure as code with Terraform and CI/CD pipeline design.
• Containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong grasp of cloud security, cost optimization, and well‑architected principles.

Nice to Have

• AWS or Azure Professional‑level architecture certification.
• Experience modernizing regulated or financial‑services workloads.

Education

Experience
