Talladega College invites applications for the tenure-track position of Chair of Computer Science and Assistant Professor. The chair will lead curricular development, oversee degree requirements, and coordinate scheduling and faculty assignments.

The appointment includes teaching responsibilities across in-person, online, or hybrid modalities, with a focus on student learning outcomes, advising, and program growth.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field with at least 18 graduate hours in CS teaching.
• Minimum of three years of teaching experience at the college level.
• Demonstrated academic leadership with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Preference for teaching in core CS topics: Programming, Algorithms, Data Structures, Computer Architecture, Networking, OS, Web apps and Software Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership coordinating degree requirements, curricular offerings, and catalog updates.
• Teach using innovative technology across in-person, online, and hybrid formats.
• Schedule courses to meet program and student needs.
• Review and revise department catalog information.
• Coordinate student advising and mentoring.
• Provide department reports and documentation for learning outcomes.
• Recruit students and monitor academic advisement.
• Recruit, appoint, supervise, and evaluate department faculty.
• Manage department budget, facilities, and equipment.
• Actively serve on college committees.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dean or Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs.
