Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking experienced personnel to operate and maintain fabrication equipment in a semiconductor/optics environment. You will follow drawings, manage data, and ensure cleanliness and safety in a high-value production area.

The role requires extensive hands-on experience with precision tools, CAD interpretation, and collaboration with engineers to optimize processes and maintain ISO-compliant operations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus additional training in fabrication/machining practices.
  • An associate's degree in field of engineering technology is a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant fabrication and machine shop experience in an optics or semiconductor manufacturing support environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate, maintain and repair fabrication process tools (Multi Wire-Saws, Cylindrical Grinders, X-Ray Orientation Equipment, Cleaning Benches, etc.) in a semiconductor or optical materials environment.
  • Familiarity with general machine tools (mill, lathe, etc.) in a model shop environment.
  • Ability to read CAD drawings in the machining/fabrication of equipment parts, tools, semiconductor ingots and substrates.
  • Must be comfortable carefully handling and loading/unloading high-value and heavy crystals.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain shop operations independently.
  • Ability to recommend and implement improvements.
  • Experience with networked PC based computer system (MS Office, spreadsheets, access, graphics, Email, MRP systems, and accounting software)

Safety Requirements

May be required to lift up to 40 lbs on occasion.
