Leidos is looking for a Sr. Crypto Systems Engineer to support a complex, mission‑critical Program within the Information Assurance Program at Ft. Meade, MD.
The successful candidate will develop and evaluate system engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, security requirements, and security testing documents. The role will provide technical support for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of specific components of complex hardware/software systems, including requirements elicitation, analysis, functional allocation, conducting systems requirements reviews, and performing technical and non‑technical assessments.
Additionally, the engineer will support the planning and test analysis of the DoD Certification/Accreditation Process, as well as other Government Certification and Accreditation (C&A) processes.
Perform cybersecurity high‑assurance evaluation activities, including reviews of security evaluation documents and high‑assurance artifacts/documents for devices undergoing certification and assessment, to ensure devices meet security requirements.
Attend and participate in relevant security‑related meetings and reviews to translate vulnerability knowledge into guidance for risk prevention and management.
Clearly document security deficiencies found during evaluation, recommend clarification of requirements and process/template improvements to mitigate security concerns.
Eight years of System Engineering experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.
Pay Range: $107,900.00 – $195,050.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, market data, applicable bargaining agreements, and applicable law.
