Alpaca is seeking a Software Engineer to architect, implement, and maintain the systems behind Alpaca Crypto, enabling billions of dollars in trading activity across a global user base. You will work with a cross-functional team to design scalable, defect-free solutions and push innovation in a fast-growing fintech environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on backend development in Go, with exposure to trading systems, market-making, and crypto wallet services.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of backend software development experience.
• Experience building high-throughput, low-latency financial systems is a plus.
• Proficient in Go, and comfortable with distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Alpaca's crypto exchange and market-making systems.
• Develop crypto wallet, funding, and tokenization services.
• Implement backend services and web applications.
• Maintain high code quality and test coverage.
• Participate in code reviews and incident troubleshooting.
