Job summary

Chart Industries, Inc. seeks an experienced Welder-Pipefitter to join our Repairs team in New Prague, Minnesota. You will repair, replumb, and weld cryogenic vessels and pressure-containing equipment per ASME, DOT, AAR, and EN codes.

You’ll perform GTAW and GMAW welding, read blueprints, operate heavy equipment, and maintain production records while supporting safe, efficient fabrication. Competitive pay, benefits, and opportunities for training are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Welding Training Program preferred.
• Experience with vessel repair, pipefitting, fabrication, or related welding work.
• Proficiency in GTAW and GMAW welding processes.
• Ability to weld in multiple positions.
• Strong understanding of blueprint reading and welding symbols.
• Knowledge of welding best practices and quality standards.
• Experience performing visual weld inspections.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with web-based systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Replumb, repair, and weld vessels using established manufacturing processes.
• Perform GTAW (TIG) and GMAW (MIG) welding in various positions.
• Complete welding, fitting, grinding, and finishing operations on repaired units.
• Operate cranes, forklifts, and aerial lifts safely and effectively.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, weld procedures, and welding symbols.
• Maintain production records, material traceability documentation, and production travelers.
• Perform visual inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
• Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
• Assist in training and mentoring less experienced welders as needed.
• Complete required training and certifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned
