Job summary

PsiQuantum is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to advance vacuum and cryogenic equipment for our quantum computer initiatives. This role collaborates with multiple internal teams and external suppliers to drive reliable, manufacturable hardware.

The candidate will leverage CAD skills, GD&T proficiency, and experience with cryogenics to support design reviews, FMEA, and integration with broader cryogenic systems. A strong emphasis on precision and collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical, aerospace, nuclear, or chemical engineering.
• 3+ years of relevant mechanical design experience on optical and electronic assembly.
• Knowledge of vacuum-related manufacturing processes, materials, and their applications.
• Knowledge of fabrication methods such as machining, welding, brazing, soldering, forming.
• Working knowledge of drafting standards and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Focus on vacuum and cryogenic equipment design.
• Produce CAD models and assembly drawings for vacuum/cryogenic systems.
• Perform design analysis including FMEA and tolerance analyses.
• Review drawings for accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance.
