Job summary

Air Liquide Large Industries in Houston, TX seeks a Design Specialist to deliver piping design packages for complex projects, develop 3D models and isometrics, and ensure compliance with ASME B31.3/B31.5 and related codes, working with engineers and external partners.

Requires a mechanical engineering degree or piping design certification, 5+ years in industrial piping and cryogenic environments, and proficiency with Intergraph Smart 3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Navisworks, to

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology with piping design certification/technical background.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial piping design and project engineering.
2+ years in cryogenic or low-temperature environments (preferred).
Experience with 3D modeling platforms and 2D drafting tools; knowledge of relevant standards.

Responsibilities

Design compliant piping systems and layouts with detailed piping stress calculations.
Integrate cryogenic components (vaporizers, cryogenic pumps, storage tanks) into systems.
Produce 3D piping models and 2D deliverables (isometrics, equipment layouts).
Develop and review P&ID diagrams with engineers or vendors.
Prepare BOMs and material requisitions for procurement and construction.
