Job summary

They seek a Photonics Test Development Engineer to own optical test and characterization, build automated test systems, and collaborate across design and fabrication teams to accelerate the learn-build-test cycle.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing, assembling, and automating optical test and characterization setups.
• Experience characterizing photonic or optoelectronic devices, including fiber coupling and grating measurements.
• Knowledge of laser device physics and practical laser characterization skills.
• Strong Python experience for test automation, instrument control and data analysis.
• Ability to independently develop experimental solutions in a fast-moving R&D environment.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end optical test development for cryogenic photonic networks, from setup design to validation.
• Design, build, and automate optical, electrical, and optoelectronic test systems for chip- and package-level devices.
• Develop automated fiber-to-chip coupling, alignment, and data acquisition workflows.
• Characterize passive SiN photonic components and active devices like lasers and detectors.
• Develop custom measurement techniques for cryogenic photonic hardware and build scalable test infrastructure.
