Job summary

Element Materials Technology in San Bernardino is seeking a Fluids Engineer to join the operations team. You will perform routine and non-routine testing, prepare drawings, BOMs and P&ID's, and support cryogenic system assembly and prototype testing.

The role requires experience with cryogenic systems, P&ID development, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure accurate results and compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering preferred.
  • 3+ years cryogenics, vacuum insulation, cryogenic transfer experience.
  • Knowledge of cryogenic fluids, vessels, fittings and safety hazards.
  • Experience with ASME VIII and B31.3 and 3D CAD tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Review and develop system P&ID and procedures from SOW.
  • Provide analysis and guidance on data and technical challenges.
  • Select sensors and instrumentation to monitor process variables.
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate control systems for cryogenic storage.
  • Conduct testing, validation, and troubleshooting for reliability.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation and design data.
