Job summary

The Research Associate in Dr. Pomerantz's lab will perform cryo-EM structure biology, X-ray crystallography, and biochemical studies on DNA repair proteins involved in cancer.

You will design experiments, interpret results, train graduate students on Cryo-EM and related techniques, and maintain databases of methods, plasmids, and resources. This is grant-funded and requires excellent record-keeping and problem solving.

Qualifications

• PhD or MD required with at least 5 years of bench research in cryo-EM and X-ray crystallography.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in protein biochemistry and molecular biology.
• Candidate should be able to train graduate students and design experiments independently.

Responsibilities

• Independently design experimental procedures and interpret results.
• Train graduate students on cryo-EM and other structure biology techniques.
• Record and analyze results and maintain databases of methods and reagents.
• Troubleshoot design issues and implement solutions.
