The Fischer Lab at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston seeks a Cryo-EM Scientist to advance structural biology projects addressing the ubiquitin proteasome system. You will purify proteins, assist with cryo-EM data collection and analysis, and contribute to publishing results.

The role includes training and mentoring lab members in sample prep for cryo-EM and negative stain, and collaborating across disciplines to test molecular glues and degrader strategies for cancer therapy.

Qualifications

• PhD in biochemistry, structural biology or a related discipline is required.
• Experience with cryo-EM and data processing is essential.
• Strong communication and presentation skills are required.
• Proven publication record in peer-reviewed journals.

Responsabilités

• Independently plan and perform purification strategies for recombinant proteins and protein complexes from insect, mammalian or bacterial cells.
• Structure determination by cryo-EM.
• Support the needs of multiple small molecule discovery projects.
• Prepare and deliver scientific presentations as needed.
• Lead role in the biochemistry and structural biology of projects.
• Train lab members in sample preparation, image acquisition and data processing for cryo-EM and negative stain.
• Thoroughly document all experiments in laboratory notebooks.
