Job Summary

Assist journeyman in planning, lay-out and installing forms, rebar, embeds and anchor bolts for installation of concrete structures in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

. Use appropriate hand (i e hammer, pliers) and power tools (i e skill saw, concrete vibrator) to properly measure, cut, assemble and install forms, rebar, embeds and anchor bolts . Construct built-in-place or prefabricated wooden forms, according to specifications for molding concrete structures . Erect built-in-place forms or assemble and install prefabricated forms . Insert spreaders and tie-rods between opposite pieces to maintain specific dimensions . Anchor and brace forms to fixed objects using nails, bolts, anchor rods, steel cables, planks and timber . Build wooden structures such as scaffold supports and supports, and frame shelters according to specifications and project specifications . Help pour concrete into finished forms to specified textures; vibrate, level, smooth and shape surface of concrete; finish concrete surfaces to specifications . Remove rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces using power grinder or chisel and hammer and patch holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound . Install all other items in accordance with the applicable plans and specifications . Examine/inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost saving measures that arise or that may be encountered Take corrective actions as needed reporting any issues to your supervision . If certified to operate equipment ensure that construction equipment is correctly operated, maintained, in good working order, and Daily Equipment Inspections are completed for equipment being utilized . Minimum Qualifications

At least 1 year of experience working in the carpenter craft or similar craft as a helper or a combination of work experience and training, and a working knowledge of the carpenter craft. Developing knowledge of industrial carpenter's craft including fabrication and erection of forms (i.e. Symons); fabrication and placement of rebar including proper tying techniques; and placing, finishing and sealing concrete. Ability to understand and follow directions. In addition, must have all necessary tools (see Carpenter Helper Tool List). Must be at least 18 years of age. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Physical Demands:

• Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds.
