Position Overview

We are seeking a Crusher Operator to join our team. This role involves safely operating machinery that conveys, washes, crushes, and screens aggregate to produce high-quality sand and gravel at maximum production levels. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a professional and courteous attitude towards customers and team members. The role may also involve operating a loader to feed conveyors or load trucks.

Salary and Hours

Salary range: $25-35 per hour

Hours per week: 40+

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Perform daily equipment inspections and site walk-arounds to identify and correct unsafe conditions, and maintain equipment.
  2. Conduct maintenance on loader, crusher, screen, and wash plant, including lubrication, fueling, cleaning, and routine screen changes.
  3. Operate loader and crusher, screen, or wash plant safely and efficiently.
  4. Operate additional company vehicles during crusher setup, teardown, and movement.
  5. Identify suitable materials to meet job specifications for quality aggregate production.
  6. Coordinate with quality control personnel and adjust material blends as needed.
  7. Shovel excess material from around equipment as required.
  8. Conduct quality control sample testing when necessary.
  9. Communicate effectively and work with others in high-stress situations, maintaining professionalism and respect.
  10. Troubleshoot operational or material quality issues, and discuss production problems with team members and supervisors.
  11. Manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines, with attention to detail.
  12. Complete reports and documentation accurately.
  13. Ensure compliance with MSHA, EPA, DNR, safety, and environmental regulations.
  14. Operate skid steer for cleanup around equipment.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Possession and maintenance of a valid driver’s license in accordance with state regulations.
  2. Experience or knowledge in equipment maintenance and operation.
  3. Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, nights, and some Saturdays.
