Job summary

Celebrity Cruises is seeking an Entertainment Operator - Lighting to manage daily operation and maintenance of shipboard lighting for the main theater and venues. You will operate the lighting board, call cues, and liaise with performers on lighting needs while ensuring safety and production standards.

The role requires strong technical and interpersonal skills, working across rehearsals, events, and stage resets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in theater (lighting design or technology) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in entertainment or theatrical lighting operation, design, set up, and maintenance.
• Extensive knowledge of Hog 3 and Hog 4 lighting platforms.
• Extensive knowledge of lighting equipment, fixtures, vocabulary, and relevant electrical knowledge.
• Experience working with intelligent and moving fixtures, maintenance, cleaning, assembly, and technical troubleshooting.
• Experience with programming and computers (Windows and Mac).
• Previous experience on cruise ships or touring is a plus.
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work positively and cooperatively in a diverse team environment.
• Ability to communicate tactfully with coworkers and other shipboard employees to resolve problems.
• Able to work well in a fast-paced environment and adapt to sudden changes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain brand and industry standards for lighting quality in the main theater and venues.
• Follow the daily written schedule for events, rehearsals, and performances.
• Interact professionally with guests and accept feedback.
• Liaise with Stage & Production Manager to maintain and improve production value.
• Operate lighting elements and call follow spot cues for events.
• Maintain inventory records for consumables and assist with PO processes.
• Ensure lighting plot and rig configurations remain approved.
• Report equipment issues promptly to leadership.
• Adhere to SQM and safety standards and artistic integrity.
• Participate in stage resets with the team.
• Ensure theater setup is clean, organized, and visually appealing.
• Open theater doors 30 minutes before showtime as instructed.
• Uphold show integrity and collaboration with production partners.
