Job summary

Thresholds is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to welcome clients to the New Freedom Centers, foster connections, and lead activities that combat loneliness. The role emphasizes lived experience with recovery, mutual support, and empowerment through self-advocacy.

You may assist with basic living skills, coping strategies, and connecting clients to resources while sharing personal recovery stories to inspire others.

Qualifications

• Lived experience with mental health recovery required or strongly preferred.
• Active CRSS credential preferred or able to obtain within 1 year.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Must be at least 21 years old and able to drive clients as needed.

Responsibilities

• Welcome clients to the drop-in center and build community through activities.
• Teach basic living skills and coping strategies.
• Connect visitors to community resources and support empowerment.
• Share recovery stories in a mutual, two-way helping process to model recovery.
• Support program offerings such as art groups, living skills, and holiday activities.
