The Center for Remote Sensing Applications (CRSA) at UM6P focuses on food and water security challenges in Africa, emphasizing the use of multi-source remotely sensed data to understand surface processes, climate interactions, and natural resource management, providing decision-support tools for water and food systems.

Job Description:

We seek a motivated Post-Doctoral Researcher for our team at CRSA. The role involves advancing research on hyperspectral remote sensing for soil fertility mapping and crop nutrient management in Africa. Responsibilities include developing data fusion techniques for hyperspectral data from UAVs, satellites, and spectroradiometers, and contributing to sustainable agriculture and food security research.

Key Duties:

  • Develop advanced data fusion techniques for hyperspectral data integration.
  • Collaborate on collecting and analyzing hyperspectral data from various sources.
  • Validate and calibrate hyperspectral data for soil and crop assessments.
  • Contribute to spectral library development for soil and crop monitoring.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics, Agronomy, or related field.
  • Strong background in hyperspectral remote sensing and image analysis.
