Job summary

Crossroads Church in Corona, CA is seeking a part-time Maintenance Technician to assist with campus upkeep, mechanical, electrical and plumbing tasks, and safety-compliant repairs. You will join the facilities team to support the church and school with hands-on maintenance projects and timely response to requests.

This position requires a practical skill set, reliability and the ability to work some weekends or evenings.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of mechanical, plumbing and electrical maintenance, drywall, and painting.
  • 1–2 years maintenance experience preferred.
  • Air conditioning certification and valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in construction and modification projects not requiring external contractors.
  • Maintain full functional use of electrical and mechanical systems for church and school.
  • Collaborate with facilities to ensure timely response and closure of work requests.
  • Report facility issues to Facilities and Construction Director that affect safety.
  • Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to meet health and safety standards.
  • Assist in installing ventilation, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical and other systems and conduct repairs.
  • Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality.
  • Inspect alarm systems and schedule repairs as needed.
  • Perform manual repairs on both campuses.
  • Monitor vendors and conduct campus upkeep procedures.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Must be clean, professional, and punctual.
  • Some weekends and occasional evenings as required

General Description

Responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the Church and School campus and surroundings especially as it pertains to major projects and tasks.

Essential Job Functions
  • Responsible for assisting in all construction and modification projects that do not require external contractor involvement.
  • Responsible for assisting in maintaining full functional use of all electrical and mechanical needs for the church and school.
  • Responsible for collaborating with the facilities department to ensure timely response and closure of facilities work requests.
  • Responsible for bringing to the attention of the Facilities and Construction Director any facility issues that may affect the physical safety and well-being of any person on any campus.
  • Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards.

Requirements
Education and Experience
  • This position requires a working knowledge of Mechanical, Plumbing and Electrical maintenance, Drywall, Painting, and the use of specialized tools to accomplish such.
  • High School diploma or GED required or equivalent (preferred)
  • 1-2 years maintenance experience working in the trades preferred
  • Air conditioning certification preferred
  • Driver’s license preferred
Working Conditions
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Sitting, kneeling or standing for long periods of time
  • Climbing up and down stairs or Ladders
  • Working at heights of up to 30ft
  • Work in tight spaces
  • Lifting up to 20 lbs over head
  • Work on rooftops
  • Work with mechanical lifts (scissor lift, Boom, Forklift)
