Job Description

Maintain control of children and vehicular traffic at crossing sites to ensure safe crossing at designated locations.

Scope of Duties

• Direct children at street intersections to cross safely.
• Record license numbers of vehicles disregarding traffic signals and report infractions to police.
• Observe vehicles and pedestrians at school crosswalks to report suspicious activity.
• Notify authorities of uncooperative or abusive children.
• Ensure regular attendance, aiming for only 2 excused absences per year.
• Follow all safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Report unsafe conditions immediately to the supervisor.
• Provide exceptional customer service to promote a positive community image.

Supervision

Reports to Andy Frain Services' Field Supervisor. Exercises no supervision.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of community geography and important landmarks.
• Analytical observation skills and clear reporting abilities.
• Quick and calm reaction to emergencies.
• Good intelligence and emotional stability.
• Tactful interaction skills with the public, especially children.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Physical ability to perform duties in all weather conditions.

• Attendance at a mandatory School Crossing Guard class.
