The City of Redondo Beach Police Department is currently looking for dedicated, part-time Crossing Guards. Our Crossing Guards are vital members of the team, helping to ensure the safety and protection of school children and citizens.
Note: Part-time positions are not eligible for City health and retirement benefits. Only those applicants in which the department is interested will receive any further notification. As part of the Police Department, this position requires a comprehensive POST background investigation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of: Vehicle Code of the State of California
Ability To: Meet medical standards for the class and physical employment standards; satisfactorily perform required duties including but not limited to working irregular shifts of between several hours per day and as much as four hours per day; read, speak, write and understand the English language; adhere to applicable terms and conditions of employment including but not limited to safety and health regulations, City rules and regulations, policies and procedures; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Please note: Candidates for this position will be put through a full background investigation including a Livescan fingerprint check and medical exam.
SELECTION PROCESS:
The selection process may include but is not limited to: application review and evaluation, written examination, performance test and interview. All employment offers made by the City are contingent upon establishing proof of a prospective candidate's legal authorization to work in the United States and successfully passing all components of the pre-employment process, such as: reference check, background investigation, fingerprint criminal history check, post-offer drug test, post-offer psychological and post-offer medical examination, the cost of which will be borne by the City.
Candidates must fill out the employment application and supplemental questions completely and accurately. Incomplete applications, including references to "see resume", are considered incomplete and will be disqualified.
