Job summary

Mesa Public Schools in Mesa, Arizona is seeking a Crossing Guard (Part-Time) at Madison Elementary School to ensure student safety during transit to and from school. You will monitor crossing areas, assist with safe pedestrian access, and communicate policies and procedures to students, parents, and staff.

The role requires quick response to emergencies, proper use of safety gear, and the ability to stand and work outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the safe crossing of school children in designated crossing areas
• Assist students, parents, and staff, etc. to provide safe access to and from school
• Communicate to students, parents, staff and visitors to ensure their understanding of school policies and enforcement procedures
• Report observation and/or incidents relating to students to appropriate school personnel
• Respond to emergency situations to address immediate safety concerns
• Wear orange safety vest and carry MPS issued, red hand-held sign to guide students, parents, staff, etc. through crossing area
• Place and remove school crossing and traffic control signs to notify motorists of school pedestrian crossing
• Regular on time attendance required
• Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools
