Applications are being accepted for the position of School Crossing Guard. Individuals who are hired will work during the school year, approximately 10 - 15 hours per week. The eligibility list developed from this recruitment will be used to fill both floater positions (assigned to various corners) as well as permanent corner positions. The duties of a School Crossing Guard are to safely direct pedestrian and vehicular traffic at school crossings and other related duties as required. This is a seasonal position that is occupied only during the public school year in the City of Kenosha. The primary responsibility of the School Crossing Guard is the safety of school children crossing the streets and intersections as they proceed to and from school. The Crossing Guard must report to his/her assigned post at a predetermined time before the morning and afternoon school sessions begin and remain on duty until the respective sessions end. The School Crossing Guard will only be paid for sessions worked.
