The City of Racine is seeking Relief Crossing Guards to assist with school-zone traffic control and child safety. This is a part-time position scheduled during the school year from late August to early June.
Guards report in uniform to assigned crossings and manage vehicular and pedestrian flow to ensure safe crossing of students. Relief Guards must report on very short notice, and there is no guaranteed hours; shifts may vary.
City residents will earn a 4% differential on top of the hourly pay range.

Under the direction of the Crossing Guard Supervisor, assist in the control of vehicular and pedestrian traffic at an assigned location for a prescribed period of time to ensure the safety of schoolchildren and the safe, orderly flow of vehicular traffic. These part-time duties are performed during the school year from late August to early June. Crossing Guards work under the general supervision of the Crossing Guard Supervisor.
Relief Crossing Guards must be able to report to work with very little notice to substitute for regular Crossing Guards, there is no guarantee of hours and shifts may vary.
