Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Forklift Operator to safely load and unload materials, move them to storage, machines, loading docks, or railroad cars. You will be responsible for safe forklift operation, material handling, and related tasks in a production environment.

You will complete paperwork, perform pre-shift inspections, monitor bale weights, and participate in Health and Safety programs while supporting other production areas as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, memos.
• Ability to read safety rules and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to perform intermediate arithmetic with decimals, fractions.
• Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Overtime availability and good attendance.
• Must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodation.
• Candidates will undergo drug screening after conditional job offer.

Responsibilities

• Load/Unload trailers in a safe manner.
• Monitor bale weights.
• Place processed material into inventory storage.
• Complete all required paperwork.
• Perform pre-shift forklift inspection.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Participate in Health and Safety programs of WestRock.
