Job summary

Aerotek in Minnetonka, MN is seeking a Mechanical Assembler for a contract-to-hire role on 1st shift (7:30 AM–4 PM) with weekly pay between $21 and $24 per hour. You will assemble mechanical and electronic components, read blueprints, use hand and power tools, and cross-train across epoxy, silicone, shipping, and soldering as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of Electronic or Mechanical Assembly experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics accurately and consistently.
• Proficiency with mechanical and electronic assembly processes, including component placement and board stuffing.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools in an assembly environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical assembly of components and sensors according to work orders and blueprints.
• Place and secure various electronic components onto printed circuit boards following detailed instructions and diagrams.
• Conduct thorough visual inspections of all components to verify proper assembly, orientation, and polarity on the board.
• Complete hand assembly and mechanical assembly tasks during slower periods in the primary work area.
• Cross-train and work in multiple departments, including epoxy, silicone, shipping, and soldering areas, as business needs require.
• Interpret and use blueprints and schematics on a daily basis to guide assembly work.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and soldering equipment safely and effectively for component and wiring assembly.
