Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of prior relevant experience.
• Advanced systems administration experience with exposure to Linux, Mac, and Windows.
• Scripting and command-line experience.
• Experience performing system backups.
• Self-directed with the ability to work independently and satisfy customer needs with minimal day-to-day direction.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
• Ability and willingness to communicate technical tasks and concepts to others.
• Strong communication and customer-relations skills.
• Good documentation skills. Understanding of IT security best practices.
• Understanding of storage systems, including SAN, NAS, RAID, NFS, LUNs.
• Understanding of basic networking concepts.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-user support for Linux, Mac, and Windows workstations; install and configure complex software; monitor, analyze, and correct system issues; maintain backups; resolve security issues like patching, risk analysis, and security plans.
• Assist with monitoring and management of storage systems.
• Perform Linux and Windows server administration.
• Provide end-user support by tracking and resolving issues via ticketing system.
• Develop and maintain system documentation.
• Evaluate and manage software/hardware solutions.
• Ensure data recovery through backups and archive operations.
• Support media management and offsite storage services.
• Develop and promote standard operating procedures.
• Conduct routine hardware/software audits of workstations and servers.
• Ensure compliance with standards and configuration guidelines.
• Maintain OS/hardware/software configuration documentation.
