Job summary

Snap-on is seeking an experienced software engineer to develop and sustain Internet-enabled hand-held vehicle diagnostic products. You will design and implement firmware and applications across multiple platforms in a global SCRUMBAN team, with focus on quality and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements include at least 5 years of C++ in embedded environments with RTOS, strong debugging and communication skills, and hands-on experience with tools such as IAR, Android Studio, Visual Studio,

Overview

New product development and sustaining engineering of Internet enabled hand-held vehicle diagnostic products

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include developing and maintaining firmware and applications on multiple platforms and products globally

Contribute as a member of a SCRUMBAN team which is part of a global development team

Design and develop new cross-platform products and features while focusing on quality

Work as part of a cross-functional global team

Requirements

5 years C++ programming in an embedded environment employing a real-time operating system

Excellent problem solving / debugging skills

Excellent communication skills - written and verbal

Self-motivatedExperience in some of the following areas:

• Well versed in multi-threaded development and n-tier architecture
• Strong understanding of object-oriented software design and design patterns
• Comfortable with using GitHub Copilot
• Familiarity with Android development
• Experience implementing multi-threaded applications on a RTOS
• Experience with the IAR Integrated Development Environment
• Familiar with Android Studio, Android SDK and UI frameworks
• Familiar with Visual Studio and Windows SDKs and frameworks
• GUI Design in an embedded environment using Tara Systems Embedded Wizard
• Vehicle Communication Protocols
