Job summary

Morgan County High School is seeking a part-time Assistant Coach of Cross Country for the 2026-27 school year. The role requires adherence to Morgan County Schools policies, KHSAA rules, and Title IX mandates, with duties spanning compliance, supervision, and program management.

The coach will conduct parent meetings, manage forms and eligibility by deadlines, maintain statistics and equipment, and coordinate with the Athletic Director on scheduling, safety, and budget considerations.

Qualifications

• Must follow KHSAA Rules and Bylaws and district policies.
• Meet Title IX mandates within powers.
• CPR / First Aid certification and online safety course completed.
• Plan and manage within the school activity budget.
• Assist Athletic Director with scheduling and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Follow the chain of command (Coach → Athletic Director → Principal → Superintendent).
• Conduct a parent meeting within the first week of practice.
• Collect original copies of physical forms and drug testing contracts; file originals with the AD.
• Submit eligibility lists and team pictures by dates specified by the AD.
• Submit scores to KHSAA and appropriate newspapers/media.
• Maintain statistics and keep them updated on the KHSAA site.
• Maintain and secure all equipment; ensure inventory at start/end of season.
• Maintain an up-to-date medical kit and required paperwork for activities.
• Ensure safety of campus before practices/games; coordinate with AD for weather concerns.
• Plan and operate within the school activity budget.
• Attend required clinics and supervise students at team camps.
• Assist the AD in scheduling practices, games, and camps.
• Promote sportsmanship and professional ethics to players.
