Job summary

Springfield School District 186 is seeking a Cross Cat Teacher for Grades 2-3. Location is to be determined; the role reports to the Building Principal and supports students with IEPs in collaboration with general and special education staff.

The ideal candidate holds an Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement, has teaching or student-teaching experience, and demonstrates strong communication, organization, and data-informed instructional skills to meet diverse learning needs.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois PEL with LBS1 elementary endorsement.
• Successful teaching or student teaching experience.
• Strong interpersonal communication with teachers, students, parents and staff.
• Strong knowledge base of curriculum for elementary grades.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of intervention strategies and progress monitoring.
• Ability to model teaching strategies for diverse learning styles.
• Ability to informally assess learning/behavior and address needs with data.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with special and general education staff.
• Work under the direction of the building principal.
• Provide instruction as determined by students' IEPs.
• Contribute to development of IEPs and behavior intervention plans.
• Provide consultation and training to teachers and parents.
• Share strategies with parents for at-home support.
• Implement IEPs for students on assigned caseload.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
