Job summary

Gateway FS, Inc. in Waterloo, IL is seeking a Crops Department-General Labor to support daily plant operations, fertilizer handling, and related duties.

The role includes assisting in sales and marketing, unloading/loading, and operating equipment such as forklifts and trucks. Required are a high school diploma or GED, a CDL with Hazmat, ability to obtain a chemical license, and willingness to work seasonal long hours with overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or a one-year minimum of related work experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must be able to acquire chemical license.
• Current CDL with HAZMAT endorsement (Class A preferred), as well as being able to pass a DOT physical, and drug test.
• Must be willing to work seasonally long hours and overtime when needed.
• Physical Demands: Must be able to work in all weather conditions. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl for various lengths of time. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily operation of the Waterloo fertilizer plant.
• Assist in sales and marketing of all products.
• Unloading/loading and stacking of fertilizer, seed, feed, and chemical product and packaging.
• Operating equipment, such as forklifts, loaders, trucks, and custom application equipment.
• Handle, load, and deliver Anhydrous Ammonia, dry fertilizer, seed and chemicals.
• Perform housekeeping and maintenance to all equipment, vehicles, and facilities.
• Work at various other locations as directed.
