Crop Insurance Claims Adjuster, Grand Rapids, Michigan

Join our team as a Crop Insurance Claims Adjuster, Grand Rapids, Michigan at American Farm Bureau Insurance Services, Inc. - AFBIS, Inc.

This role offers a salary range of $50,000 to $75,000 per year, based on experience and skills. The position involves working remotely in Grand Rapids, MI, and surrounding areas, with responsibilities including loss adjustment, pre-acceptance, and quality control activities for Crop Hail and Federally Reinsured Crop Insurance products.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Performing loss adjustments and inspections by communicating directly with insureds.
  2. Staying updated on industry procedures related to claim adjustments.
  3. Analyzing claims and recommending software enhancements for compliance.
  4. Conducting claim audits and reviews.

Qualifications include:

  1. Bachelor's degree and/or 2+ years of claims adjusting experience.
  2. Knowledge of crop insurance policies and procedures.
  3. Understanding of farming practices and crops in the territory.
  4. Ability to obtain necessary certifications and licenses.
  5. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with excellent communication skills.

Physical demands include extended driving, travel, and fieldwork involving climbing and walking on uneven ground. The role requires willingness to travel within the state and possibly overnight.
