Job summary

ProAg, a part of Tokio Marine HCC group, is seeking a Crop Insurance Adjuster for Minnesota. You will work from home and cover a Minnesota territory, performing field inspections, measuring fields, and gathering production records to evaluate crop losses under MPCI, Crop Hail, and Named Peril policies.

You will travel extensively, with up to 75% travel, to farms and ranches. The role requires a high school diploma and crop insurance experience; CAPP certification and state licenses are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Crop insurance experience in claims or compliance or any ag-related experience.
• Analytical skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Basic computer and internet applications knowledge helpful.
• Completion of the Claim Adjuster Proficiency Program (CAPP) certification and/or applicable licenses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform fact-finding to determine cause(s) and percentage of loss using independent judgment.
• Convey regulations and interpretation of procedure to claimants, agents, and industry people on claim situations.
• Communicate our position on developing industry topics such as new specialty crops or expanded coverage programs.
• Expand knowledge of RMA rules and ProAg procedures for applying MPCI, Crop Hail, and Federal Crop Insurance regulations.

As a ProAg Crop Adjuster, you will make first contact with our policy holder on the farm or ranch that has just experienced a loss. You will work with our customer to complete field inspections, read maps and aerial photos, measure fields and storage bins, collecting production records of farm commodities, all the while assessing damage or loss. You’ll stick with each claim for each grower until the work is done and the claim is settled. Reporting to the Area Claims Supervisor, you will work regularly in the field on the farms, climbing grain bins, walking over rough terrain for long distances, etc. You will apply your good judgment, common sense and understanding of ProAg's adjusting guidelines and policy provisions for a variety of Multi-Peril Crop Insurance, Crop Hail, and Named Peril policies.In this position, you will work from home and cover a territory of Minnesota.
