Job description

UPMC Children's Community Pediatrics (CCP) is hiring a Part-Time Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner for our Pediatric Express Care clinic in Hummelstown, PA.

Hours: Part-time evening shifts (5pm-9pm) and every other weekend (Saturday 12pm - 8pm, Sunday 10am - 6pm).

Location: UPMC Children's Express Care - Mechanicsburg

Position Specifics: CCP Express Care is an outpatient after-hours pediatric clinic providing treatment for minor injuries and illnesses.

Staff/Senior Level:

The Staff or Senior Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner responsible for setting standards for care quality. The APP manages patient care activities with supervision and collaboration with physicians, demonstrating leadership, partnership, and collaboration. The role involves establishing and maintaining relationships with healthcare team members, patients, and families to achieve optimal outcomes and demonstrates a commitment to the community and healthcare profession.

The successful candidate will be placed based on years and months of experience for employment purposes.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply professional knowledge and skills appropriate for the setting, communicate effectively, and demonstrate critical thinking. Develop a plan of care considering individual patient needs, seek opportunities for improvement, and build relationships with patients and colleagues. Recognize ethical situations and seek guidance as needed, accepting assignments that increase in patient load and complexity.
  • Engage in clinical development of team members, seek advanced practice techniques, utilize performance feedback, and pursue ongoing professional development. Provide basic education to patients and families, participate in professional organizations, and stay informed through literature.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of research and evidence-based practice, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and identify opportunities for clinical improvements.
  • Communicate clearly with the healthcare team, demonstrate awareness of cultural diversity, and support safety in the workplace.
