This job administers anesthesia to patients during surgical, obstetrical, and other pain-producing procedures under the supervision of a physician. Works in a collaborative model including residents, fellows, attendings, and staff who care for patients.

Education
Required – Master’s degree from a school of nurse anesthesia accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA).
Work Experience
Required – None.
Certifications
Required – License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice.
Certification through the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA).
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
