Job summary

MUSC Health - Columbia Medical Center is seeking PRN Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists to join our growing Midlands Division. The provider will work with an Anesthesia Care Team of experienced CRNAs and board-certified anesthesiologists on a broad mix of cases across our Columbia and Camden, SC campuses.

The role requires CRS background with a master’s in Nurse Anesthesia, and current BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications. PRN hours and compensation reflect hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Experience administering major vascular, pediatric, neuro, regional, and orthopedic anesthesia.
• Graduate of a program approved by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs.
• Master’s degree with concentration in Nurse Anesthesia if hired after Mar 1, 2019.
• Insurable by MUSC malpractice insurer for required limits.

Responsibilities

• Provide PRN CRNA coverage across MUSC Health campuses in Columbia and Camden, SC.
• Collaborate with Anesthesia Care Team including CRNAs and board-certified anesthesiologists.
• Administer a broad mix of anesthesia for inpatient and outpatient cases.

This role will focus on a broad mix of cases across MUSC Health’s campuses in Columbia and Camden, SC.

Minimum Training, Education, and Experience:

• Experience administering major vascular, minimal pediatric, neuro, regional, and orthopedic anesthesia, as well as anesthesia for outpatient surgery.
• Graduate of a program approved by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs.
• The minimum education requirement for those hired after March 1, 2019, is a master’s degree, or higher, with the concentration in Nurse Anesthesia.
• Insurable by the medical malpractice insurer of MUSC for the required limits.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations

• Must be recognized as an APRN or be eligible, with current license to practice, or eligibility to obtain practice in the state of South Carolina.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) require either a certification from an American Health Association (AHA) for Healthcare Providers or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Healthcare Provider.
