Job summary

University Health Associates is seeking a CRNA to provide anesthesia care in collaboration with supervising physicians, following hospital policies. You will monitor patients during induction, maintenance, and emergence of anesthesia across general, regional, and monitored cases, adapting plans as needed to ensure safety and effective outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must hold current West Virginia RN license (or applicable state license).
• Board certified or recertified by NBCRNA.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient safety at all times.
• Ensure airway management proficiency and use of airway adjuncts.
• Work within delineated clinical privileges.
• Minimize infection risks to patients and staff.
• Maintain patient confidentiality of information.
• Participate in pre-anesthetic evaluation and agent selection.
• Perform anesthetic techniques: IV access, invasive monitoring, intubation/extubation, arterial sampling.
• Monitor patient response and communicate adverse conditions promptly.
• Administer IV fluids and blood products as required with surgeon/anesthesiologist guidance.
• Document anesthesia status accurately.
• Perform safety checks on anesthesia equipment and prepare supplies.
• Review informed consent and verify surgical site in SBAR with team.
• Communicate effectively with perioperative and post-operative staff.
• Provide anesthesia care in absence of an anesthesiologist if life-threatening emergencies arise.
• Assist with teaching of CRNAs, GRNAs, and SRNAs.
• Handle controlled substances per policy and law.
• Maintain professionalism at all times.
