Job description

Position Summary

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist – Per Diem. Will work under the supervision of an anesthesiologist (Anesthesia Care Team model) to provide safe and effective anesthesia to patients in either an operating room or non‑operating room setting. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served across the lifespan. May work shifts ranging from 8‑hours to 24‑hour in‑house call. Hours and needs may vary depending on the needs of the hospital.

Education, Licensure, and Certification

Graduate of a school approved by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs and current certification from the NBCRNA. Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of New York.

Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to work with a multidisciplinary group and demonstrate effective communication skills.
• Delivery of a safe anesthetic to patients requiring both surgical and non‑surgical procedures in both inpatient and outpatient facilities (obstetrical, pediatric, neuro, vascular, ENT, general surgery, orthopedic, urology, trauma, endoscopy).
