Job summary

Down East Community Hospital seeks a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to provide comprehensive anesthesia care and perioperative oversight. You will collaborate with surgeons, ensure patient safety, and advocate for the patient throughout the perioperative period.

The position requires Maine RN and CRNA licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications, and a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia (doctorate preferred).

Qualifications

• Active unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine.
• Active unrestricted license to practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in the State of Maine.
• Current verification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
• Current verification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Current verification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Minimum of Master of Science degree in Nurse Anesthesia, Doctorate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide full spectrum anesthesia care based on patient and surgeon needs.
• Consult with operative surgeon before, during, and after anesthesia for patient safety.
• Act as patient advocate and manage the patient throughout the perioperative period.
